Every day, whether over the phone or in person in our dental office, we’re asked a lot of questions about our dental office and our services. We want to be as transparent as possible, which is why we’ve responded to some of the most frequently asked dentistry questions below. If you have other questions that we don’t address here, feel free to get in touch with us and ask. We’re always here to help!
Why do I need to visit the dentist every six months?
We strongly recommend coming to our dental office at least twice every year because dental problems can pop up quickly. With a regular checkup, Dr. Turnbow can catch an issue before it progresses, damages your smile, and gives you pain. Plus, we clean areas of your teeth that tend to build up plaque, preventing future oral problems from developing.
Do you treat children?
Yes, we do! We happily welcome patients of all ages as young as 3 years old all the way up to 93 and older. We’ve designed our family-friendly dental office to create a relaxing environment and be comfortable for everyone, even those with special needs. With us, your child can have positive experiences that lead to lifelong oral health.
Why should I straighten my teeth with Invisalign?
Straight teeth aren’t just more visually appealing; they also make daily brushing and flossing much easier and more effective. But that doesn’t mean that you have to wear metal braces for years to get the results you want. Invisalign allows you to maintain your appearance while realigning your smile. Plus, with this treatment, there are no diet restrictions to worry about, and daily oral care stays simple and straightforward.
What is a crown and bridge?
A bridge, sometimes called a crown and bridge, is a dental restoration that replaces one to three consecutive lost teeth. It consists of dental crowns that are fused together in a line, and the end crowns are hollowed out to attach onto the teeth that are located next to the gap to hold the bridge in place. A bridge can also bond to two dental implants for stability.
Do I really need to replace my missing teeth?
Absolutely! When a tooth is lost, it can obviously impact how you look, but it can also impair your ability to speak and eat efficiently. In addition, the other teeth can shift to make up for the gap, leading to jaw pain, more tooth loss, and other unpleasant outcomes. By replacing your missing teeth with a bridge, partial denture, full denture, or dental implants, you ensure that your lost teeth don’t ruin your smile.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We are in-network with many dental insurance plans, including Humana, and more. In addition, we have a membership plan to help those without insurance avoid paying full price for their dental healthcare.
