Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Knox says that she has always been driven to help others, and she believes she found her calling in life when she chose dentistry. It not only allows her to serve people daily, but also work with them one-on-one so she can perfectly tailor her care to their unique needs.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Knox worked as a dental assistant while getting her BS in Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and she eventually earned her dental doctorate at the UT Health Science Center of San Antonio.
To further her education, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through UTHSCSA. During this time, she was trained to provide IV and oral conscious sedation. Sedation dentistry has been her passion for the past 13 years because it can break down barriers that prevent many people from getting the care that they need. Additionally, she also gained experience in dental implant placement, advanced surgical procedures, full mouth rehabilitation, and cosmetic dentistry.
To stay on top of the latest changes in the dental world, she is a member of the following organizations:
- American Dental Association
- Texas Dental Association
- Academy of General Dentistry
- American Dental Society of Anesthesiology
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When she isn’t taking care of smiles, you will almost always find Dr. Knox spending time with her husband, Justin, and their two beautiful children. She strives to make the most of her weekends, so she has many hobbies, including camping, running, crafting, baking, and volunteering around the community.
